once again, I am away from my computer. i'm sitting in my boyfriend's room studying for a "merchandising and buying" test (aka reatil math) and the thought occurred to me that i haven't posted anything. well its a miserable day out here and i've already put on my pajamas so there won't be any photoing going on here today. plus i do not have access to my hard drive, which means i'm limited to my facebook page again.
now as it so happens, i just had a faculty interview the other day with my "practical work experience" teacher (aka pwe or intern class). she's already sent out my resume to a couple PR companies but i should also look forward to maybe hearing from some wholesalers, specifically in jewelry. between that, and the inclination i have to shiny things, i was inspired to do a post on jewelry. i have an affinity for accessories and i feel i have a lovely collection so i thought i should definitely dip into the rtw archives and post some of my stuff.
these are by danny pollak accessories. danny is a toronto based designer. he does not have a store because he likes to remain exclusive so you'll have to track him down at various crafts shows and the like.
the first pair of earrings i purchased last summer at the canada day "it's your festival" celebration in hamilton
the three pairs of earrings were purchased at the one of a kind arts and crafts show in november.
the teal pair broke just after christmas and i should be receiving them, repaired by danny, this month (he guarantees his work).
the bracelet was a gft from my boyfriend and we got it at the ex back in september.
i love his work. danny's pieces have a vintage esthetic with art deco, and art nouveau references. the earrings are offered with pin backs or clip-on. he uses antique european glass and australian crystal. all the moulds for the metal work is created by him as well. i highly recommend his work. danny and his team offer great service and really know their stuff. he is a master at finding the right gift.
